Anyone else have a black hole where their bathroom closet is supposed to be? I am sure I am not the only one. I have no idea what is in the closet and have given up hope of ever knowing. Bathroom organization is something I drastically need, but have yet to manage.
Even though I know I need it, I continue to ignore it – close the door and say, ‘I’ll get to it someday….it’s on my list.’ I am sure with my new clean ingredient journey, I could get rid of and recycle a ton of stuff and clear up some major space. But, honestly, it’s not high on my list of priorities.
Carving out a chunk of time to get it done isn’t difficult, but I need a plan first.
So, I turned to Pinterest, of course. We all need organization in the closet, under the bathroom sink and on the countertop, don’t we? Because of our ongoing master bathroom renovation, five of us have been sharing a bathroom for quite awhile. It’s close quarters but the worst is the countertop. I just don’t wanna share a sink with kids that spit toothpaste everywhere but in the actual sink. #kidsareyucky (and believe me, I have told them on numerous occasions to rinse the sink after use, but kids seem to have selective hearing….hmmm)
I know that finishing up the master bathroom is my best bet (just run, Heather, run!) But, I have to be patient when we are a DIY family. So, instead, I am going to try my best to make our shared bathroom more of an oasis. There are some gorgeous bathroom organization ideas out there! But, I also have to keep in mind that I need function – not decoration and I don’t want that much glass as I have kids and that is a disaster waiting to happen.
Here are some neat ideas for storing items:
My favorite idea is by FAR the use of an extra tension rod in the shower to hang products and baskets or the shower curtain “shoe rack”. So clever. See here….
I found some great ideas for storing our towels, products, dryers, curlers, etc. So, let’s tackle the countertop next….
The wooden box and the mounted jars are adorable, aren’t they?
I have a ton of planning before I figure out what I want to create. Organizing a busy space in your home is extremely satisfying but it has to be done with functionality. I have 5 people to consider with very different schedules and needs. At least there are a ton of great ideas to consider that are also beautiful. Creating a bathroom oasis that can make you feel like you are at the spa should be at the top of everyone’s list of priorities.
